1 Tbsp.  Hansen’s Secret Salsa (Add more for more heat!)

1 1/2 Tsp. salt

1/2 Tsp. pepper

1 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder

2 Tbsp mayonnaise (Optional)

1 box tomato soup (17 oz.) or 1 can tomato soup (10.75 oz) with 3/4 cup water

1 can red kidney beans (15 oz.)

1 large sweet onion – finely diced

1 lb. ground beef

8 oz. bacon – chopped

10-14 oz. linguica or other smoked sausage – diced

Cooking Instructions:

Heat pot over medium heat. Add chopped bacon and saute for 5-10 minutes till rendered, but not too crispy. Remove half of the rendered pork fat and add diced sausage; saute for 2-3 minutes. Add diced onion and cook till translucent. Add the ground beef, salt, pepper, chili powder and Hansen’s Secret Salsa; cook till the ground beef is browned. Add mayonnaise and mix thoroughly, then add the tomato soup and kidney beans (rinse kidney beans with water before adding). While stirring, bring the chili to a medium boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover pot and simmer for 45 minutes. Stir the chili every once in a while to avoid burning the bottom of the pot. Serve and enjoy!
